Getting Started with ThoughtForma
ThoughtForma is the platform for producing hyper-prototypes quickly, easily and collaboratively. We want to get you realising your ideas as fast as possible. In order to do so we have put together some information below to get you started on your journey with ThoughtForma.
Forma
Forma is our term for the ThoughtForma editor, this is where all of your creations will be formed.
Spaces
Spaces is ThoughtForma's way of separating work. For example you could create a space per app that you are working on. When you first create your account, a space called 'Default Space' will be created for you. You can rename this and create and edit spaces via the Space page as illustrated below.
Previewer
Clicking the 'Previewer' button will open a new tab allowing you to see your app take shape.
The previewer will show the results of your edits in realtime giving you an immediate connection to your creation.
Pages
The Page piece is where your prototyping journey begins. You can start by dragging a Page piece onto the Forma workspace, change its name and then open your Previewer window to observe your blank canvas with the name that you just gave it. Add another page to the workspace and you will see the Previewer switch to this page.
You can navigate between pages simply by clicking on the Page block and observe the previewer switch to chosen page. The selected page will be highlighted in yellow as in the image below.
Components
ThoughtForma provides an assortment of components to enable you to build high-fidelity prototypes. The best way to get familiar with them is to drag them into a Page and experiment.
Configure them into specific layouts by playing with the powerful Layout pieces that ThoughtForma offers. Learn more about Layouts here.
Styles & Properties
You can apply various style and properties to each of the components available within ThoughtForma.
Click 'Save Changes' and immediately see the result of your changes in the Previewer window.
